AUTOMATED WOODWORKS

I have done it again.  Seen something and got hooked. I was searching Youtube one afternoon and came across this video about a DIY 3D Printer better known as a reprap.  So I started doing some searching around the net and came across the official wiki page for the Reprap. This is where is all began.  Pulled out the credit card ( while the wife was not looking of course :) and started spending away. Went to ebay and bought a set of " PRINTED PARTS" which someone printed from their homebuilt 3D printer.  Then Started looking for the non printed parts better known the Reprap community as "Vitamins". These vitamins are the screws, smooth rods for the x,y,z axis, and all electronics to start printing. Most of the heavy duty reprap builders and suppliers are over seas. I about messed my pants when I found a local company about 40 miles away who sold everything needed to get started. The company Ultimachine and owner Johnny was most helpful. He offered to let me visit his place of buisness and see a printer in action.  Thanks Johnny. I still need to get over there and check out your printers and maby get some advice on setting mine up.

Well Here are some photos of mine.  This one is called a PRUSA MENDEL.

All the rods, motors, and print plate installed

All wired up and ready to start my 1st print

The tape on the print plate is to help the PLA stick. As you can see there is a small amout comeing out of the extruder nozzle.

Still working on getting the temp to the extruder nozzle correct. Few more Tweeks in the software and Ill be set.
